ReWire students Anđela Garić and Dora Medved successfully defended their master theses in September 2025. Their research supports the objectives of the ReWire project and contributes to advancing sustainable construction practices.
In her thesis “Building as a Source of Materials”, Anđela Garić explored the concept of buildings as material banks, emphasizing the reuse, recycling, and reintegration of construction materials at the end of a building’s service life and highlighting the construction sector’s role in the circular economy.
In parallel, Dora Medved assessed the environmental and economic performance of advanced repair materials in her thesis “Life Cycle Assessment of Selected Repair Materials”. Her work focused on materials such as magnesium phosphate cement (MPC) and ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC), demonstrating how mineral additives, industrial by-products, and recycled materials can reduce environmental impacts in repair and rehabilitation projects.
Both students demonstrated strong commitment and collaboration throughout their work within the ReWire project. We congratulate them on their achievements and wish them continued success in their professional careers.
