The successful cooperation between the Department of Materials of the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Zagreb and the company Gumiimpex-GRP Ltd continues through the project ReWire. On Tuesday, 27 April 2021, Katarina Didulica and Ana Baričević visited the facility for mechanical recycling of waste tires.
The members of the ReWire research group were warmly welcomed by Mr Hren who gave them a tour of the recycling plant, explained the process of mechanical recycling of waste tires and presented the innovations in the way waste fibers are disposed of from the recycling process. During the site visit, samples of recycled tire polymer fibers were taken for characterization as part of the ReWire project.
